Many observers focus on ships, cargo volumes, trade statistics, or port operations.
The discussion frequently centers on transportation activity itself.
The systems supported by ports receive less attention.
While reviewing developments across global trade, manufacturing, logistics, energy, and economic development, I found myself paying less attention to cargo movement and more attention to the infrastructure operating through it.
The port remained visible.
The trade infrastructure became visible.
The observation was not about ships alone.
The observation was about connectivity.
