Adaptation remains one of the most important yet least visible foundations supporting modern civilization.
Environments change.

Many observers focus on the changes themselves.
The discussion frequently centers on disruption, innovation, or transformation.
The systems enabling successful adjustment receive less attention.
While reviewing developments across technology systems, governance structures, economic activity, infrastructure networks, and institutional evolution, I found myself paying less attention to change itself and more attention to the infrastructure supporting adaptation.
The change remained visible.
The survival infrastructure became visible.
