Many observers focus on expansion, contraction, or visible changes in scale.
The discussion frequently centers on how much capacity a system possesses.
The structural capability allowing capacity to adjust dynamically with changing demand receives less attention.
While reviewing developments across infrastructure, governance, healthcare, finance, logistics, manufacturing, scientific research, and digital systems, I found myself paying less attention to fixed capacity and more attention to the elasticity allowing interconnected systems to adjust resources and operational capability as conditions change.
