Predictions appear across economic systems, markets, politics, technology, society, personal life, public commentary, cultural traditions, and many other areas of human activity.

Some predictions are specific enough to compare with later outcomes.

Others may use broad language, long time horizons, flexible interpretations, incomplete records, or conditions that are difficult to measure.

When direct verification is difficult, belief may be influenced by more than the original prediction itself.
