Purpose

The Reality Equation is a conceptual formula created to illustrate how evidence, time, and narrative may influence the perceived strength of reality within an information environment.

The formula emphasizes that evidence can accumulate over time, while unsupported narratives may weaken when compared with sustained observation and proof.

Conceptual Equation

R = (E × T) / (N + ε)

Reality Strength = (Evidence × Time) / (Narrative + Epsilon)


Variables

R — Reality Strength

The conceptual strength of reality supported by accumulated evidence and sustained observation.

E — Evidence

Facts, data, records, measurements, and observable information.

T — Time

The period during which evidence, observation, and proof may accumulate.

N — Narrative

Stories, opinions, interpretations, assumptions, or informational noise surrounding an observed reality.

ε — Epsilon

A small conceptual stabilizing value included to prevent division by zero when a narrative has no measurable substance.


How the Formula Works

  • More evidence increases the conceptual strength of reality.
  • More time allows evidence and observation to accumulate.
  • More unsupported narrative may reduce the relative visibility of evidence.
  • Epsilon keeps the conceptual equation structurally defined when narrative approaches zero.

Within this conceptual model, reality becomes stronger when evidence remains observable and consistent over time.

Narrative may scale quickly, but sustained evidence provides a stronger foundation for verification.
